‘Fire in the Hole’

With a capacity to create original ideas, 2016’s ‘Get Down You Dirty Rascals’ helped Black Peaches stand out as one of a handful of acts unafraid of staying away from the mainstream when looking to create interesting pop music.  Follow up ‘Fire in the Hole’ holds this line of rebelliousness whilst nudging them gently into a new line of influences, most noticeably cosmic county rock, The Sleepy Jackson and SuperTramp.  Choosing to center their materials around accessible folk pop, Peaches build out accessible tracks with their combination of funk-ridden grooves (‘Lemonade’), delta blues, Afro-Brazilian rhythms (“Barracuda”) and 70’s FM pop (“Cuatro Berimbau”) in a genre-busting album filled with pop hooks and interesting experimentation.
