Ryan Adams – 29
I used to love Ryan, then I got bored of him and his live shows; I never fell out of love with this though. You can’t hang on to something that won’t stop moving.
Guns N Roses- Nightrain
I’ve been fairly quiet in Feburary- getting annoyed with my own wetness as the month went on. Guns helps me find my inner radgie in March – it’ll end in tears.
Axl’s fucking hotpants mind….has there ever been anything more rock n roll??
Richard Hawley – Baby you’re my light
As good as it can get – perfect.
Kings of Leon
Knocked on is on repeat for most of mid March – loved the third album and loved their Newcastle show last year. The first 5 or 6 years of the band is such a good blueprint for life; build momentum, stay with the momentum, take it as far as possible.
Stay Lucky – Gaslight Anthem
A moment of rage sees me turn to the Gaslights and get lost in a world of anger, frustration and a desire to wear a Celtic top and cover myself in tatoos.
Badly Drawn Boy – Something to talk about
A late Feburary flick through Amazon sees me dig out the About a Boy film – annoyingly it’s a hell of a lot better than I remember. Even more annoying is the reality that I missed so much of the delicacy of the film – i guess i was too young, foolish and set in my ways.
A March live show with Gough, including the most brilliant performances of various songs from the AAB soundtrack, makes my younger self look beyond daft.
Mike and The Mechanics – All i need is a miracle
In terms of 80s pop and 80s production, this is magnifiicent. What a chorus!!
