Davie King – The fall of the emporer less

Released as a charity single for MIND, SAMARITANS, TONIC, and supporting awareness of mental health and youth music, ‘The Fall’ is a ska/ dub driven track centred around positive, Marley/ Specials esque, theme’s of government oppression, the fight for equal rights for all and the struggles of the common person.  Driven by a strong dub bass groove, and featuring special guest Lee Thompson (Madness) and an assortment of his horn section, Emperor is a strong, if not overly original, piece of ska designed to activate both the feet and the mind.   Owing the majority of its success to it’s vocals, and their narratives, King produces a sonically rich track which is musically mellow let lyrically aggressive.  Summer may have passed us, but if a powerful, relaxed, summer sound is what you’re looking for then look no further.  Great track, great message, great cause.
