Full of spirit and sneer, The Thieves return full of purpose with a track which holds one foot in the traditional indie song writing structure, and the other filled with a passionate punk delivery.
Making sufficient noise for their 3-piece set up, MTV is laced with the type of edge that often comes with the spirit of youthfulness, and the belief that the world should be faced head on and with purpose. Offering a rest-bite to the behaviour that develops as bands/people age, MTV asks questions about how we are slowly conditioned by societal rules, and thereafter become apathetic about things like love, society and how/where we spend our time.
Technically well delivered, and with an interesting depth of sound in production, MTV may not be overly original in its structure, but it does carry the conviction and energy of rebellious youth demanding to be heard. You can’t beat that.
