The best feature of Wargirl is the risks they chose to take.  Debut album ‘Streets’ could well have been produced to sound like a standard, guitar-driven, collection of (very good) tracks yet instead the collective have gone looking in another direction, challenging themselves to find interesting electronic sounds and textures.  What they found, should turn them into pop-art prophets.

Right from opener, and standout, ‘Poison’, ‘Streets’ bustles with a cocky swagger and bravado.  Light synths, menacing bass-lines, and essential hand-claps turn their blend of pop into the coolest slice of guitar-electronica since The Dandy Warhol’s ‘Welcome to the Monkey House’, a style which persists across a knock-out debut full of sass, spirit and sing-along’s.  A must.
