The pop universe often makes an interesting place to visit.  Equally as likely to provoke as it is to please, often pop’s most interesting pieces, and characters, lie at the very borders of the cosmos.  Whether it’s cartoon characters like Kiss, or pantomime villains like Justin Beiber, sometimes the pop stars most likely to force a reaction are those who follow their own path and dare to look for new images or sounds.  Creating his own path entirely, local electronic synth/texture builder Frost is nothing if not original.  Whether tinkling with children’s toys (‘Slippery bricks’) or building banging techno rhythms (‘Scrolling’/ ‘Rattling’) Frost takes the structure of pop to its dance/synth limits in a uniquely interesting album.  Interesting and provoking, Frost clearly lives in the borders.
