Taking to stage confidently, blues/Americana standout Elles Bailey looks ready for business from the off at her Glasshouse 2 show.  Born in Bristol, but surrounded by American blues/country influences, Bailey spends most of her time tonight around her most recent album  – Can’t take my story away – an album which leans perhaps more into soul than anywhere else in her career.   Using the album as a base, Bailey delivers strongly tonight- pushing her jazz/blues vocals to the front of the mix and orchestrating her live band to drop in and out of the focal points – cleverly allowing both her vocals and her lyrics to stand out.  Growing in confidence both as a songwriter and a live performer, tonight is a good reminder of the capabilities of Bailey as she continues to grow her credibility and reputation. Excellent.
