Bay City Rollers. Stockton Arc. 9.3.24

For a band that’s sold over 300 million (!?) records and been around for over 50 years, The Rollers look and act pretty youthful tonight.  There’s some justification in this given that their line-up isn’t the classic mid-to-late 1970s outfit – but before we let any modern-day cynicism creep in-  the Bay City’s performance evidences a well-rehearsed, if not well known, line up playing with a smile and giving it their all.  Presumably aware of this, the main focus of tonight showcases a valiant attend by Stuart ‘Woody’ Wood to lead a collection of solid musicians in a concert that, though a little ‘karaoke’ at times, recaptures many of the bands finest moments.  We get the hits, we get some deep-cuts, and we get a few tales; and though they might not all mean too much to me, you can see they clearly mean a lot to a lot of people – and that’s the beauty of pop music
